Major Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Aerial weapons struck civilian homes in Kyiv during the night

Local officials said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
